Instructor

Leane started her training in ballet at age 4, and achieved straight Distinctions up to Advanced 2 for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations. After graduating from The School of The Arts Singapore in 2012, she was awarded a scholarship to further her ballet training at the Central School of Ballet in London, where she trained under Linda Moran, Elia Luyando, Leanne King, Carol Gable and Fiona Chadwick. In September 2015, Leane graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Professional Dance and Performance.

Her time at the Central School of Ballet gave her many performance and choreography opportunities. Her choreography of a neoclassical ballet piece won second place in the school’s Choreographic Platform, and she also had the honour of performing a self-choreographed piece at the City of London Festival. In her graduate year, she had the opportunity to perform with Ballet Central, the school’s touring company, performing items such as “Four” by Christopher Hampson and “Hopper” by Kit Holder.

Leane joined Singapore Dance Theatre as an apprentice in January 2017 and has performed in Singapore Dance Theatre’s Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, Coppélia, Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party, The Four Temperaments and Paquita. Leane was promoted to Artist in January 2019.

Leane has been teaching ballet and contemporary classes for children and adults since 2016.
